Q. Are copyrighted images allowed to be used on Fotos by Design Products?
Copyright & Trademarks
Understanding intellectual property issues can be confusing. As a guideline, you may contribute only original work that you have created yourself from original elements.
This means you can't use images of celebrities or corporate products, nor images, text, or design that you've copied from a website without written permission from the owner. You can't create a "new" image using elements from images other people have created. And you can't contribute a quote or a slogan that is substantially the same as something already written by someone else.
Copyright Law. As a guideline, copyright law limits you to contributing only original work that you have created yourself from original elements. This means you can’t use images of celebrities or corporate products, nor images, text, or design that you’ve cut from a website without written permission from the owner. You can’t create a "new" image using elements from images that other people have created. And you can’t contribute a quote or a slogan that is substantially the same as something already written by someone else.
Trademark Law. Letters, words, designs, logos, and combinations of the foregoing can be trademarks when used to promote the sale and distribution of goods and/or services. Trademarks identify and distinguish one seller's goods and/or services from the goods and/or services of others. The test for infringement is whether your use of a design creates a likelihood of confusion on the part of the public. You cannot create products with a design that is likely to cause confusion

Q. How long will it take to receive my personalized item?
A. Your personalized order will ship approximately 2-3 weeks after receipt of your order. We offer Rush handling for an additional $10.00. These Rush orders will ship within 3 days of receipt of your order. You can also select Next Day Air shipping which will be quoted based on the size/type of items.
Please remember that we create each gift individually for you or your recipient. Some of our items take 2 to 3 weeks to personalize and cannot be expedited. The extra personalization time is listed on the product pages. Click here for more Delivery Information.

Q. How will I know when my order has been shipped?
A. You will be notified when your order ships from our offices. When available, a tracking number will be sent to you via email.

Q. Can I track my order online?
A.Most of our orders are sent via USPS or UPS. Not all of these orders can be tracked. When a tracking number is available, it will be sent to you via email in your shipping confirmation email with a link to track your order.

Q. Can I return a personalized item?
A. fotos by design stands behind the quality of every product we sell and each item is uniquely created for the recipient. Understandably, personalized items cannot be accepted for return, except when there is a quality concern. If your order it is not 100% free from defects in materials and workmanship, you may return it in new condition and in its original packaging for a prompt credit, exchange or full refund

Q. I made a mistake on the item I ordered. Can I get a replacement?
A.We understand that everyone makes mistakes (including us!), especially on spelling and dates! Take special care when reviewing your order. Check your spelling, dates and names carefully. In the event that you made an error and need a replacement, we offer it to you at a 20% discount. Of course, if we made the error, we will send a replacement item at no charge to you.

Q. What payment methods do you accept?
A. fotos by design accepts Visa, MasterCard and American Express. You can pay by check or money order by sending your order through the mail.

Q. Do you offer Quantity Discounts?
A .fotos by design also offers volume discounts on orders of the same item. Perhaps you are organizing a family reunion or planning your wedding. However, these discounts are based on the number and type of item. Please e-mail us using the contact form on our website and include the details of your request.

Q. Can I order Photo Items on the Internet?
A. We do accept digital photos for reproduction on selected products. For the best quality reproduction, please review our Image Requirements before uploading your image.
If the item you want to order is not available with a digital image upload, or if your images do not meet the minimum standards for upload, you may send a photo to us with your order through the mail at: fotos by design, p.o. box 7044, huntington woods, mi 48070.

Q. Why can't I add items to the shopping basket?
A.The browser that you are using may not be set up to support Cookies, or you may have Cookies turned off.
Without Cookies enabled, you will not be able to add items to your shopping cart. "Cookies" are small text files that are placed on your computer in order to identify your shopping cart on our Web site. To enable Cookies, set your security level to medium.
Use of cookies - Cookies are small files which are sent to your web browser and stored on your computer's hard drive. This website uses 'session cookies' - temporary cookies that remain in your browser until you leave the website. These allow you to carry information across our site without having to re-enter it; it also enables us to analyze web traffic and improve our online services. They can not be used to identify you. Q? What if my photograph is valuable?
A.If your photo is valuable or of sentimental value, we strongly recommend that copies are made before sending them to us as we cannot accept responsibility for items lost or damaged in transit. Your photo will be returned to you with the goods ordered unless we are directed to ship the items somewhere else. In that case, your photo will be returned through the mail. |
